Both best-selling skate shoes of all-time. Do they share any similarities? If so, call it. 🤔🔥👟🔥

Wow. What a picture. The two best selling skateboard shoes of all time: Nike SB Stefan Janoski in all its variations versus the Osiris D3 created by Dave Mayhew.

Where to even start. One looks like a low-top snowboard boot  and was voted one of the ugliest skate shoes of all time, while the other looks like you could actually feel your board with it. Both kicks made Stefan and Mayhew rich beyond their wildest dreams, not that they weren’t great skateboarders (Stefan is one of the all time greats) but they weren’t exactly marketable P-Rod types.

It’s one of the great stories in skateboarding. Skater sketches some lines on a napkin, hands over to designer, becomes filthy rich and makes many skaters and many more non-skaters happy. It’s fabulous!

Ripped Laces, who look into everything skate shoe related, pulled off the little compare and contrast and asked for viewers to chime in. The contrasts are shocking. If one didn’t know about skateboarding you’d think the D3 were the futuristic shoe that protects your feet from any danger. But the opposite is true and now we know better. Thank you Stefan!

Here’s a little bonus video below. WARNING: May trigger nightmares and/or sensual feelings.
