Skateboarding Saves! But Does It Actually Help People?
Skateboarding Saves! It’s a phrase we’ve heard over and over again because it’s true. It’s crazy that picking up a neighbors skateboard as a kid can literally change your entire life.
But can skateboarding actually help people? It’s a bit different question. Skate brands are trying to make a profit and skateboarders themselves are buying the products that let’s them feel cooler and ollie higher or just plain have more fun. But a brand like Element has always done it their way and has a long history of using skateboarding to reach underprivileged communities and kids through Element Awareness.
This time they got Evan Smith and Nick Garcia to skate and help out. They brought a group to a Native American reservation in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, which has a skatepark, but is always in need of more skateboards. Check the video and get inspired to help someone else out down the line.
