Skateboarder – Sage Elsesser – Featured on Frank Ocean’s New Album BLONDE | Drops “Jason Dill’s” Name
Sage Elsesser has been killing it in the skateboard world the last little while, ripping for Supreme, Cons, Fucking Awesome, and others. He’s got one of those weird fan obsessed Tumblr pages and in addition he’s featured (loosely) on one of the best and biggest albums of the year: Frank Ocean’s Blonde. Other collaborators on the album include: Beyonce, Pharrell, the Beatles, David Bowie, Kanye, Jamie xx, Kendrick Lamar, Brian Eno, Andre 3000, Rick Rubin, and more. Not bad company.
On the last track – called Futura Free – there is a bunch of seemingly random chit chat after the dead noise. If you listen close though you’ll hear:
Interviewer: Talents, got any secret talents?
Ryan: I don’t think so, I’m pretty open in everything I do
Sage Elsesser: Talents? I can play the theremin… Tyler… nah actually fuck him. I don’t know, probably Dill cause he doesn’t have to do anything at all, sits inside his house
Interviewer: What’s your name?
Sage Elsesser: Sage Elsesser
Interviewer: What do you do?
Sage Elsesser: I play soccer and go to school. I wanna be better at skating
That’s right… Jason Dill. That’s Sage and Frank’s little brother Ryan getting asked questions by Illegal Civilization’s Mikey Alfred talking about super powers and skateboarding. If the Internet is to be believed this was recorded about 4-years ago. Before Sage became a skate industry darling. They spent a ton of time hanging with the Tyler, The Creator and the whole Gang.
Apparently the text is also in Frank’s zine Boys Don’t Cry that has only released at a few pop-ups so far and is going for $$$ on ebay. The rumor is more will be available soon.
