Ray Barbee, David Lynch, + Talk Inspiration | Where ideas come from

 

What do Ray Barbee and David Lynch have in common? Really it’s just the same trait that many skateboarders and other creative people have and the same reason many skateboarders go on to excel in other creative endeavors. Same shit, different paint brush.

Andrew Norton, who if you ever followed the Canadian skateboard scene was a major behind the scenes player, put together this cool short about the many mysteries of ideas and inspiration. It looks briefly into minds like David Lynch, Robert Krulwich, Chuck Close, Tracy Clayton & Heben Nigatu, and of course Ray Barbee.

 

 

 

Found a folder of old slides and negatives and found this one of @leeyankou doing a kickflip in the west end. Forgot about this one – I think this ended up as a @stereoskateboards ad alongside his interview.
