Max Schaaf VS. Everybody | Calls out Steve Cab, surfers, skater/bike builders, +

 

Skateboard / motorbike building legend Max Schaaf was at the House Of Vans in the UK and got caught up with Sidewalk Mag. He came off like a bitter old skater and we love him even more for it. This is how you give a good interview. Yeah everyone likes to have fun and skate around with their friends, but this is the kinda stuff we want to read about.

He calls out Steve Caballero in what sounds like a long running skate beef. Calls out people that talk about going surfing because he surfs 160+ days a year and doesn’t have to Instagram it or tell anyone. He says he buys Vans for retail because he doesn’t even know who to call over there anymore. Seeing as he did a collab with them not so many years back we’re pretty sure he could figure it out if he wanted to.

Read it all. There are tons of great grumpy guy/’I did this first and made less money so I’m more core’ points. It kind of makes the whole bike building/Born Free culture seem more like a big baby fest than even action sports. And that ain’t easy!
