LOVE Park Re-Opens After $26-million Renovation + People Are Pissed | A skate-proofed piece of flat grey concrete
Remember when LOVE Park was rescued from irrelevance by skateboarders and then turned into a thriving city hub and the center of east coast skateboarding? Then the city decided to completely flatten it in a sad attempt at a $26-million redesign. Even the artist who created the park, Robert Indiana, was pissed.
Well now it’s reopened. It’s completely unskateable and everyone is pissed. Fuckers.

What's wrong with the new love park? Hostile design. Wide open hardscape unshielded from the sun, spaces designed to prevent people from sitting down. Sterile, horrendous, tragic. @JonasMcivitas and I visited and I have the UX a review: F pic.twitter.com/R0x4w4WHb4
