IKEA Gets Into Skateboarding Hardgoods + Homeware | Peak mainstream reached?

 

IKEA is now making a skateboard rack? Has skateboarding reached peak mainstream?

The mega brand collaborated with Chris Stamp for a full SPÄNST collection including a cruiser board for $90 (shown below), skateboard related goods and other trendy home goods. Too much? Don’t they know there is no money in skateboarding hardgoods?

Clothes are at the forefront of the collection, with a mesh wardrobe, clothing rack, hangers and sneaker boxes all on hand, with a rack boasting storage for footwear and skateboards alike. A host of boxes allow for extra storage space, while an armchair and standing support encouraging both relaxation and focus. A basketball hoop and skateboard are informed by the brand’s laid-back sporty attitude, while tees, a hoodie, cap and duffel ensure comfort both on the road and around the house.
