Condé Nast Traveler Trying to Kill It’s Readers | Go surf Nazaré, Pipeline, + Mav’s they say!

It’s funny when mainstream media tries to blow out surf spots. It’s kind of cute because they aren’t doing it maliciously, they just have absolutely no clue. Here, sister site of VOGUE Skateboarding Magazine – Condé Nast Traveler – gives their beginner level surfing audience a list of the 10 Best Surfing Spots in the World. Traveler’s LOVE lists. So did they do any research on where a nice place to travel without crazy crowds and nice rolling waves for Condé Nast readers to get better on? Not quite. When they weren’t leading their readers to some of the deadliest big waves in the world like Pipeline, Nazaré, and Mavericks, they were sending them to the unruly hipster paradises of Bondi and Huntington Beach. Arguably even more dangerous with their high rates of drop-in’s, STD’s, white supremacist, and overpriced coffee/drugs (Bondi). And don’t even get us started on trying to send people up to Canada.

Does Condé Nast hate their readers so much they are trying to kill them off? Are Pipeline and Mav’s going to be more crowded this year with early-40’s soft toppers with too much disposable income? So many questions!

Lucky enough for us, every time the mainstream leads traveling surfers to the wrong spots it’s a win for us. Maybe there is a surfer on staff and they are actually doing this on purpose? Smart!
