AM Skateboarders Haven’t Landed Trick In 12-yrs | “Since 2001, recreational skaters have tried to perform 8.4 billion tricks + have successfully executed zero of them”

Have you ever watched a group of beginner/intermediate skateboarders trying to do a flip trick, not coming close for hours, and then pretended you were someone that didn’t know a thing about skateboarding? You’d probably think those kids were crazy spending all that time on something with a landing ratio of 1% when you could just be zooming around on a razor scooter having the time of your life. Yes, this is probably how the average ‘normal’ thinks and satirical website The Onion picked up on it. Like all their articles it’s funny because of the aftertaste of truth. Stings don’t it.

“The multi-decade study, which will be published in this month’s Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, found no instances in which non-professionals were able to ride on a skateboard, propel themselves and their board into the air, perform a maneuver of any sort, and then land back on the deck and continue to ride as they had before the jump.”
