‘Saturdays NYC’ Move to Non-Surf Fashion? | Drop ‘surf’ and a founder!
Look at these handsome devils and tell me this isn’t a feature story for that reason alone! Co-founder Colin Tunstall looking right into your soul. Co-founder Morgan Collett starring across Crosby St. into a sweet nothing with the weight of the world on his mind. But wait? Saturdays ‘SURF’ NYC was started by three, no?
Surely Josh Rosen wouldn’t accidentally miss a New York Times fashion photo and he is just as, if not more, devilishly handsome than both Morgan and Colin. Perhaps the rumors are true of Josh moving on to other things. As true as the rumors of Saturdays Surf NYC not only dropping the ‘surf’ from their name to become Saturdays NYC, but also from their fashionable garments?
Has America’s fav post-surf brand moved post-post-surf into high fashion? Have they ‘caught the fashion wave’ right into a new consumer group? Or perhaps we will all be wearing blazers to the beach next year.
“We have always been inspired and focused on an elevated aesthetic that has been inspired by New York City and all the different cultures that come here,” Morgan Collett, a Saturdays founder, said. The new Saturdays line includes linen blazers with matching trousers or shorts and a navy pin-dot suit. “There’s something, I think, quite cool about tailoring and incorporating that into your everyday wardrobe,” Mr. Collett added. “It doesn’t even have to be an occasion. It can be just a normal Tuesday, cruising around the city.”
