10 Things Chris Nieratko Hates | “I used to hate everything.”

Chris Nieratko emerged out of the Big Brother scene to become one of the greatest “skateboard journalists” working today. He used to be a self-described dick too, but has grown into a mature kind-hearted man that skateboarding is blessed to have.

“Chris has been in and around skateboarding since forever, and his contribution cannot be understated. He’s a legend in the biz, and he’s got the expensive, hi-tech toilet to prove it. Or at least he did back in New Jersey. I wonder what kind of space-age poo-bucket he’s loading up in California… Hmm. I also wonder what he hates. Let’s find out.”

I grew up in a violent home & so I was full of hate. Thanks to many drug-free years of therapy, marriage & fatherhood I struggle to think of even 10 things that I hate anymore, even jokingly. I look back at a lot of what I’ve written/said in the first half of my life, even in jest, and I’m unable to identify or relate to that person. My book feels like another person wrote it & I regret a lot of it. I’m thankful to still have time to continue to work on improving myself. That said, in Hawaii back in November @monsterchildren‘s @andrewjamespeters did his best to try & get me to tap into my hate for a list… (Link in profile.). Hopefully you get a laugh. That’s always been the point. #DrugsSuck #MentalHealth is key
