The Tony Hawk Pro Skater Videogame Story | A doc behind the cash cow
Back in the late 90’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater videogame made an entire generation feel like they were skateboarders without ever having to fall down. It made Tony a multimillionaire many times over and helped in making a lot of skateboard brands a lot of money by having non-skaters buy their gear.
Basically it changed the world and now there is a possible documentary in the works on it…
“The first official Indiegogo trailer for Pretending I’m a Superman, which is the ultimate behind the scenes documentary about the best-selling Tony Hawk game franchise featuring interviews with the developers, Tony Hawk himself, Rodney Mullen and many more.
The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series goes down in history as one of the most successful video game franchises ever. Pro Skater 2 is recognized as the second best video game of all time by Metacritic. The series impacted skateboarding and lifted the industry to an all time high. It inspired people to skate all across the globe. Pretending I’m a Superman examines the untold story of the team of developers and skaters that created the series and the cultural phenomenon that ensued.”
