The industry is changing right before our eyes. Many of the worlds best surfers are now sponsorless. No big money making sticker on their nose. We’re talking guys that were sponging up $100’s of thou per year now buying their own vodka’s in economy class. It’s shocking. What are they to do? Maybe start getting hired out for short term contracts?
There are options. Like Dane Reynolds starting up his own brand instead of taking the corporate route. But the problem is no one else is Dane.
Surfers are taking a hit because brands took a hit because retail took a hit because you don’t like wearing baggy boardies and ill fitting boxy logo tee’s anymore. So it’s your fault!
